Bainbridge Island, Washington

Natural Dye Trail Walk with Tyler Peterson

Bainbridge Island is home to a veritable abundance of natural dye plants! Join Portland-based fiber artist Tyler Peterson on a walk through the M & E Tree Farm site to forage for materials to create natural dyes. Learn to identify and sustainably harvest plants populating the diverse topography of central Bainbridge Island.

Tyler will demonstrate how to prepare a dye pot on site, using natural mordants to illustrate the dying process.

Please wear suitable shoes and clothing for walking brambly trails, and consider bringing gardening gloves and natural mosquito repellent.

Guests traveling from Seattle should take the 5:30pm ferry.

Lone Pine Farm & Studio at M & E Tree Farm is a working agricultural site.

Visitors participate in all activities at their own risk.
